Biden administration to pay $15 billion to TC Energy Corporation
The Biden administration will most likely pay $15 billion for canceling the permit for Keystone pipeline project to the company behind it.
When the U.S. government cancelled the company’s permit it violated free trade obligation, according to the claims of TC Energy Corporation.
When the permit was withdrawn, the Keystone pipeline was under construction to carry oil from Canada into the U.S.
Since its start, the project was target of people who claim the pipeline will hurt the environment where it’s build.
TC Energy claims it is legally allowed to recover losses as part of the NAFTA agreement.
