Firefighter injured while extinguishing a house fire in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A firefighter was injured while extinguishing a home fire in Cedar Rapids on Monday morning.
The firefighter was injured after a ceiling fell over him at the location. He was treated at the scene by medics.
Several trucks were sent to the 3600 block of Northwood Drive Northeast just after 11 a.m. to resolve the matter.
On Monday afternoon, the CRFD said that a bystander had seen the fire and rescued the only person inside the house. Then, they went back to the scene to save a dog.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but authorities have said that the property was significantly damaged.
