Man found stabbed to death inside Iowa meatpacking plant
EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — A homicide investigation is underway in Eagle Grove, Iowa after someone was found stabbed to death in the employee locker room area inside Prestage Foods.
Officials with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation say the Wright County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stabbing at the plant around 5:40 a.m.
Investigators said a suspect has been identified and is in custody. They also say the suspect and the victim knew each other.
No names have been identified, but investigators say the incident involved two white male employees.
Plant managers issued this statement:
There was an incident between two individuals resulting in a fatality at the plant in Eagle Grove this morning. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is investigating with the DCI. Due to that on-going investigation, we defer any questions to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
